Announcing the 2023-24 Arts Alive! & Barrington Middle School Play…

Play Selection Coming Soon!

Registration: Registration Opens Thursday, November 16th at 6pm – Thursday, November 30th. Registration will be available at www.artsalivebarrington.org. Students will rehearse in 3 groups of 30-35 students per day. Parents will select their student’s rehearsal day/ group at the time of registration and students will be called every week during the rehearsal period on that selected day. Monday & Wednesday rehearsals will be held at BMS immediately after-school until 5:15pm. Sunday rehearsals will be held at the Arts Alive! Studio at Cutler Mill in Warren from 2:00-4:00pm. Transportation will not be provided. Registrationwill close when each rehearsal day group has filled. This may be prior to 11/30. Once each rehearsal group is full, we will begin a waitlist.

Auditions: Everyone gets a part! Auditions will be held on your student’s selected rehearsal day on the following dates:
*Sunday, December 17th 2:00-4:00pm (At Arts Alive! Cutler Mill Studio in Warren)
*Monday, December 18th After school-5:15pm at BMS in the Auditorium
*Wednesday, December 20th After school-5:15pm at BMS in the Auditorium

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will take place from Wednesday, January 3rd – Sunday, March 17th. See rehearsal days below that you will be able to select from at registration (No rehearsals on Holidays or BPS PD Days.) Actors may be called to additional non-mandatory rehearsals of different days as determined by the Director:
*Sundays 2:00-4:00pm (At Arts Alive! Cutler Mill Studio in Warren)
*Mondays After school-5:15pm at BMS in the Auditorium
*Wednesdays After school-5:15pm at BMS in the Auditorium

Performance Dates:
*Friday, March 22nd, 2024 at 7pm
*Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at 1pm & 7pm
*Sunday, March 24th at 1pm
Tech Week Rehearsals 3/20 & 3/21

Program Fee: $180 for all registrants. Sibling discount of $25 off second and subsequent students’ registration fees. Scholarships are available. We are also excited to once again offer the Pete Bilderback Scholarship this season. All Scholarship information & Applications are available on as part of the online registration. The deadline for scholarship applications is November 21st.

Policies for Barrington Middle School

Communication

All communications are through email from Arts Alive. Please do not call the office with questions about the play.

It is imperitive that we have the correct email for you and any other caregivers for your child. Also, please ensure that you are able to receive emails from admin@artsalivebarrington.org.

Rehearsal Dismissal + Late Pick-Up Policy

Unless otherwise noted, all after-school rehearsals at Barrington Middle School end at 5:15pm and rehearsals at Cutler Mill Studio end at 4:00pm.

You do NOT need to send in a dismissal note for rehearsals. Arts Alive! staff will provide a list of children participating in rehearsals each week for sign-out.

Please be aware, there will be NO TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED to Cutler Mill Studio by Arts Alive! or the BMS PTO.

Please be on time to pick up your child. If your child remains in our care 15 minutes beyond the designated pick-up time, you will incur a $10.00 late pick up fee per family for every 10 minutes beyond the 15 minute grace period (i.e., 1-10 minutes late, $10.00; 11-20 minutes late, $20.00, etc.). Late fees must be paid in full at the time of pick up. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Refund Policy

While we are confident that your experience with Arts Alive will be a positive one, we have outlined our refund policy below. All refund requests must be made in writing and submitted to admin@artsalivebarrington.org.

If a registered student decides not to participate in the Arts Alive school program:
– A full refund, minus a $30 processing fee will be given if the student withdraws, prior to the first day of auditions
– A 50% refund will be given for withdrawal after auditions have started but before the cast list is posted
– A 25% refund will be given after cast lists have been posted but prior to the first rehearsal
– No refunds will be given once rehearsals have begun. Extenuating circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis.

Cast List

Cast List will be release after auditions are complete.

Attendance

The play consists of an ensemble cast. Even if you think your child has a small part, they are a significant part of the play. Their absence affects the entire cast. Please do your best to ensure that your child is present for every rehearsal for which they are called. If your child has to miss a rehearsal, please notify us as soon as possible. More than two (2) absences may result in removal from the play.

Discipline Policy

All participants and their parents will be required to review and sign the Arts Alive! Discipline Policy. The Discipline Policy will be reviewed at the start of the program. In addition, a hard copy will be provided to be signed and returned.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available.

All scholarship applications are now closed.

Costume Fittings

Fitting dates will be announced through email. No costume pieces or props will be shared amongst students. Any props that are shared will be disinfected before another students uses them
